The Grosse Pointe Garden Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote education, beautification, horticulture and conservation in our community through community projects and programs. Open to the public, the Garden Center’s activities provide a valued resource to learn about gardening, provide volunteer opportunities, and meet and work with others of similar interests.

The Garden Center was formed in 1950 as successor to the  Grosse Pointe War Memorial’s Grounds and Gardens committee. In 1956, the Garden Center became a separate non-profit organization.  Our office has continuously been housed at the War Memorial.

The GPGC offers public access to gardening-related experiences and education. We provide scholarships for the Master Gardener program, sponsor and maintain the Trial Gardens, Veterans Garden and Arbor Perennial Gardens, display beautiful local private gardens on our Annual Garden Tour, and provide public lectures on gardening and conservation related topics.
